Statement of faith

Mov forward church
1. The Scriptures – God’s Inspired Word
We believe the entire Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and
authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:21). It is the final rule for faith and
conduct. The Word reveals God’s nature, His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, and His
instructions for the Church, including the operation of the Holy Spirit until Christ’s return.
2. The One True God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). God is the Creator, Sustainer, and
Redeemer of all.
●
●
●
Monotheism: There is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4).
Trinity: This one God exists eternally in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
(Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Nature of God: He is Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer of all things.
This means that while there is only one God, His being is revealed in three coequal, coeternal
Persons:
●
●
●
The Father – Source of all creation and the One who sent the Son.
The Son (Jesus Christ) – The eternal Word who became flesh for our redemption.
The Holy Spirit – The divine presence who empowers, sanctifies, and indwells
believers.
3. The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God. He was
conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23). He lived a sinless
life (Hebrews 4:15), worked miracles, died a substitutionary death (1 Peter 2:24), rose bodily
from the dead (Luke 24:39), ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9–11), and is seated at the right hand
of the Father (Hebrews 1:3). He will return for His Church in the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
4. The Fall of Man
We believe man was created good and upright in the image of God (Genesis 1:26–27). Through
voluntary disobedience, man fell, incurring both physical death and spiritual separation from
God (Romans 5:12–19).
5. The Salvation of Man
We believe salvation comes only through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ. By grace, through faith, we are justified, regenerated, and born again by the Holy Spirit
(John 3:3–7; Titus 3:5–7; Ephesians 2:8–9). This new life is sealed by the Spirit as the believer
grows in holiness.
6. The Ordinances of the Church
●
●
Baptism in Water – commanded of all believers as a public testimony of their faith in
Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47–48).
The Lord’s Supper – observed as a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice, proclaiming His
death until He comes (1 Corinthians 11:23–26).
7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as promised by the Father and poured out in Acts 2.
This baptism is distinct from and subsequent to salvation, empowering believers for witness and
service (Acts 1:8).
Scripture teaches that there does not need to be a specific outward display of physical emotion
in order to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The Bible declares that we are baptized into
one Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13). This baptism is the true power of transformation, providing
believers with the ability to boldly proclaim the gospel (Acts 4:31). Speaking in tongues is one of
the gifts of the Spirit, but it is not required as the sole evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit
8. The Gifts and Manifestations of the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit distributes His gifts to the Church according to His will (1 Corinthians
12:4–11). These gifts include:
●
●
●
Revelation gifts: Word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits
Power gifts: Faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles
Vocal gifts: Prophecy, tongues, interpretation of tongues
We hold firmly that the Church “does not lack any gift as we wait for the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 1:7–8). Therefore:
●
●
●
The gifts of the Spirit are not temporary but remain until Christ gathers His Church.
These manifestations are for edification, guidance, correction, and the building up of the
Body (1 Corinthians 14:3–5, 12, 26).
The Spirit Himself guarantees that we will be “kept firm to the end” by these gifts until the
day of Christ’s appearing.
Heart of Worship Ministries emphasizes prayerful desire, active use, and biblical order in all gifts
of the Spirit, believing they are essential for the Church’s mission in this age.
9. Sanctification
We believe sanctification is both a definitive act of separation from sin and a progressive work of
the Spirit. Believers are called to holiness in heart and conduct (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews
12:14). Sanctification is accomplished by the indwelling Spirit and obedience to God’s Word
(Romans 12:1–2).
10. The Church and Its Mission
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to be His habitation through the Spirit
(Ephesians 1:22–23). The Church’s mission is to evangelize the world (Matthew 28:19–20), to
build up believers, and to demonstrate the Kingdom of God through the manifestations of the
Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:26).
11. The Blessed Hope – The Pre-Tribulation Rapture
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to catch away His Church before the Great
Tribulation (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52). This event is the blessed hope
of the believer (Titus 2:13). At that moment, the Church will be “taken out of the way” and caught
up to be forever with the Lord. Until then, we live in expectancy, filled with the Spirit, and operating in his gifts
12. The Millennial Reign of Christ
We believe in the visible, bodily return of Christ with His saints to rule and reign for a thousand
years on earth (Revelation 20:1–6; Zechariah 14:4–9).
13. The Final Judgment
We believe in the resurrection of the dead and a final judgment (Revelation 20:11–15). The
righteous will enter eternal life in God’s presence, and the wicked will face eternal separation in
the lake of fire.
14. The New Heavens and the New Earth
We believe in the promise of a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells and
God’s people shall reign with Him forever (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21–22).
Closing Emphasis
At Heart of Worship Ministries, we declare: we do not fall short in any gift as we await the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:7–8). The Spirit’s manifestations are vital for
the Church’s holiness, mission, and perseverance until the rapture of the saints. We therefore
commit ourselves to walk in the Spirit, operate in His gifts, and remain steadfast until Christ calls
His bride away
